A 1950s construction on the coast, this renovation project featured what we call “good bones” — that is, structural elements that were worthy of salvaging. After stripping it down to its original studs, we incorporated steel I-beams. The added support enabled a more open layout and glass walls that accentuated panoramic ocean views. The added space features a three-car garage with a “bonus” room directly above, a dining room with a standing seam copper roof, a mudroom, first-floor laundry, a master bath and a half-bath, and decorative façade features such as dormers and decks. |
